The staff at Grainger, the UK's largest quoted residential property investor, have been fundraising for Shelter since the start of 2005.

In the first 12 months they smashed their original £10,000 target and raised an astonishing £50,000 for us.

Employee involvement

Grainger staff have supported Shelter with real enthusiasm, running marathons and entering teams in the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge event. Four employees helped build homes for families in Mexico as part of our Building Futures event - a once in a lifetime experience. Regular dress-down days have also made fundraising easy.

Payroll giving

At the start of 2006 Grainger launched 'Love Giving', a payroll-giving scheme which proved immensely popular with Grainger's 200 employees and won Grainger, Shelter and Workplace Giving UK an Institute of Fundraising award.

As a major force within the housing sector, Grainger is a great model for other landlords, working with Shelter to improve housing policy and raise funds.
