Newcastle Building Society and Shelter have been in partnership since 1999 when together we launched the Key Account, a charity savings account.

Cause-related marketing

The Key Account is a fantastic example of effective cause-related marketing, in which a donation equivalent to 1% of the total interest on each account is given to Shelter every year. As well as being great for Shelter, the account is the perfect choice for investors who not only want an attractive rate of return, but who wish to make a difference through Shelter's work.

Our shared values

The organisation is committed to supporting local communities and causes, and the work of the Newcastle Building Society Community Fund is a testament to this. This ongoing support for Shelter is a clear demonstration of the building society's concern for the welfare of the communities in which it operates and for the damage caused by homelessness and bad housing.
