Barclays
Shelter worked in partnership with Barclays Bank on a range of initiatives throughout England.
Together we wanted to work to improve the lives of homeless people, and demonstrate our commitment with a positive, measurable impact in communities.
As well as helping Shelter's work with homeless people in London, Barclays supported an exciting new initiative to provide expert housing advice and support to people in Newcastle who are from minority ethnic communities.
Barclays' retail staff embarked on a programme of fundraising and volunteering ideas to add value to the Shelter/Barclays partnership.
Barclays' staff undertook an ambitious bike ride from Lands End to John O'Groats via London, which particularly benefited Shelter's innovative project-based services for children.
Some Barclays employees also ran for Shelter in the Flora London Marathon 2003 and 2004, raising valuable funds for Shelter's work while experiencing the euphoria of participating in the world's largest Marathon event.
