Staff at Drum Housing Association, a registered social landlord, chose Shelter as their Charity of the Year in 2006.

2006 was Shelter's 40th year, and Drum celebrated its 10th anniversary - in recognition of these two events and as a mark of support for Shelter, staff at Drum decided on several ways to raise funds for a cause that is close to their hearts.

Staff at the Hampshire-based housing association took part in bring and buy sales, dress down days, gruelling gym-a-thons and even braved the cold outdoors (albeit the Drum staff car park!) in a sleep-out in aid of Shelter. Regular 'breakfasts in the boardroom' are among other initiatives they undertook to raise extra money, and show their enthusiasm for the partnership.

Andrew Cobb, Drum chief executive, said: 'We are pleased to be supporting Shelter in this our tenth anniversary year. We wanted to raise awareness as well as funds for Shelter, a cause that we fully support - and have lots of fun at the same time! Our staff, residents and partners have been enthusiastic in getting involved and raising money for such a great cause.'
