PayPal approached Shelter in December 2006, proposing a housing-related prize draw in which PayPal would pay the winner's mortgage or rent for the year.
Given the housing theme, Shelter presented itself as the ideal charity partner.
The promotion ran from January to February 2007 and raised more than £11,000 for Shelter's work with homeless and badly housed people.
Our business relationship with PayPal continues to develop, as we explore other ways in which PayPal's functionality can support Shelter's fundraising and campaigning efforts. For example, PayPal Mobile enables people to pay for Shelter merchandise or donate to Shelter via one simple text message.
