Prudential
In 2003, Prudential selected Shelter as their Charity of the Year.
Prudential's UK corporate and CSR group, CommunityPru, worked with Shelter to offer its employees an opportunity to raise vital funds for Shelter, and at the same time understand the issues surrounding homelessness and bad housing.
Activities the staff got involved in included:
- Strip 4 Shelter
- The Three Peaks Challenge
- Wardrobe Relief
- The re-launch of the company's on-line payroll giving scheme
- The sale of a charity calendar
- The Shelter Crystal Ball
Prudential gave staff the incentive to donate from their payroll by pledging to double match every new Shelter payroll donation until May 2004.
As a result, 10% of all staff signed up as payroll donors within the first month of the online scheme being launched.
