Recycle your old mobile phone
If you have recently bought a new mobile phone, you can help Shelter - and the environment - by sending your old one to phone recycling company Fonebak. For each mobile that Fonebak can re-use, they will give us £5. *
And it couldn't be easier. Just call Shelter's Supporter Helpdesk on 0300 330 0516 or email info@shelter.org.uk and we'll send you a specially designed Freepost envelope.
Alternatively, you can use a standard padded envelope. Please make sure it is clearly addressed to Freepost Fonebak - SHELTER. Visit www.fonebak.com for more information.
Did you know that:
- more than 87 per cent of people in Europe own a mobile phone
- in the UK, about 18 million mobile phones are replaced each year
- most old phones are in good working order and can be recycled for use in developing countries.
* Once phones are sent to Fonebak's recycling centre they cannot be returned. If you are under the age of 18, please ask a parent or guardian for permission before sending a phone. Neither Fonebak nor Shelter accepts responsibility for phones that have been sent for recycling without permission of the owner.
