The duties of the Scottish Legal Service Ombudsman passed to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission on 1 October 2008.

Before 1 October 2008, if you made a complaint to the Law Society of Scotland or the Faculty or Advocates and were not happy with the way your complaint has been handled, you could have taken your case to the Scottish Legal Services Ombudsman (SLSO). However, the duties of the SLSO have now been passed to the new Scottish Legal Complaints Commission, which launched on 1 October 2008.

If you made a complaint to the SLSO which has not yet been dealt with, the SLCC will handle your complaint instead.

You can find out more about the SLCC here.
