If you wish to formerly hand over your tenancy to another person, this is known as assignation. Whether or not you can assign your tenancy will depend on the kind of tenancy it is, and what the terms and conditions are. Some tenancy agreements may not allow you to assign your tenancy, or may state that you can only assign the tenancy to a relative.
