Hub Support Volunteer - Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow
Are you kind, patient and understanding? Do you want experience providing face-to-face support to people affected by housing issues or homelessness? If so, we are currently looking for volunteers to be the friendly face of our Hubs in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee.
As a Hub Support Volunteer, you would provide initial support to people who visit our Hubs for information about housing issues or homelessness. You would talk to visitors about their issues and find out what type of support they require. If they don’t require urgent support from a paid advisor, you would then help them with basic tasks like filling in forms or finding information on our website. Full training will be provided for you to be able to do this role, with an option of accreditation if you stay with us for a while. Between visits, you could also support Shelter Scotland by completing a range of different administrative tasks.
You would be part of a friendly and supportive team, and would be given regular feedback and support by your volunteer champion. We are very open to volunteers from a range of different backgrounds, and welcome people who have personal experience of homelessness or housing issues. All reasonable out of pocket expenses would be reimbursed.
By providing this vital support, you would help us to reach even more people and ensure that our paid advisors are able to respond to the most in most need.
Our next training course for this role will probably take place in mid May, so please get in touch before then if you are interested in getting involved. For more information about this role, please look at the role profile attached, or contact us at email@example.com.
