Online Chat Volunteer - Glasgow
If you are interested in gaining experience in a digital advice or support role and you have a few hours to spare during working hours, this may well be the opportunity for you!
Our Online Chat volunteers provide guidance and support to people who contact us through our website using the online chat function. In this role, you would support people experiencing housing issues or homelessness to find information on the advice pages of our website and provide basic advice if required. Full training will be provided for you to be able to do this role, with an option of accreditation if you stay with us for a while.
You would be part of a friendly and supportive team, and would be given regular feedback and support by your volunteer champion. This role has great employment prospects, and several of our online chat volunteers have achieved employment in our Helpline team. We are very open to volunteers from a range of different backgrounds, and welcome people who have personal experience of homelessness or housing issues. All reasonable out of pocket expenses would be reimbursed.
By providing this vital support, you would help us to reach even more people and ensure that our paid advisors are able to respond to the most in most need. On average, online chat volunteers help 350-400 people each month.
Our next training course for this role will probably take place in mid May, so please get in touch before then if you are interested in getting involved. For more information about this role, please look at the role profile attached, or contact us at email@example.com.
