If you or a member of your household needs help with day-to-day tasks such as eating or washing, you may be able to get care and support from your local council. If the council decides that it has a duty to help you then it will design a care package to meet your specific needs. The council also has a duty to support asylum seekers who are under 18 and have come to the UK without their parents.
Asylum seekers with care needs
If you or a member of your family finds it difficult to manage day-to-day tasks because of your age, an illness or a disability then the council in your area might have to provide you with accommodation and support. Read more 
Unaccompanied children
If you are under 18 and have come to the UK without your parents or anyone to look after you then you will be supported by your local council. You will be put in touch with the council as soon as you make your claim for asylum. Read more
