The private rented housing panel (PRHP)

If your home doesn't reach a certain standard of repair and your landlord refuses to carry out the necessary work, you can apply to the private rented housing panel (PRHP). If the President of the PRHP thinks you have a case, it will pass your application to the private rented housing committee (PRHC). The PRHC will look into the situation and, if necessary, order your landlord to carry out the repairs.

Taking your case to the PRHC

If your landlord is refusing to carry out repairs to your home, you can complain to the private rented housing panel (PRHP). If the President decides that your application is valid, they will pass it on to the private rented housing committee (PRHC), who will look into your complaint. Read more 

How the PRHC enforces its decisions

If the private rented housing committee (PRHC) decides that your landlord is not complying with the duty to meet the repairing standard, it must take action to force your landlord to carry out the necessary work by serving them with a repairing standard enforcement order (RSEO). Read more
