Announcement of funding boost to Scottish house building
7 October 2008
Responding to the announcement of a £9 million funding package to boost Scottish house building, Graeme Brown, Director of Shelter Scotland, housing and homelessness charity, said:
'After last week's revelation that there were 9,500 households stuck in temporary accommodation in Scotland [1], it's clear we need more affordable homes. This is a welcome start as part of a programme already announced by the Scottish Government. Scotland must see a significant increase in the numbers of rented homes being built, particularly as the credit crunch continues to bite.'
