Comment on government help for homeowners

Speaking following the announcement that the Scottish Government is committing extra money to the Home Owners' Support Fund, Graeme Brown, Director of Shelter Scotland, housing and homelessness charity, said:
'At a time when families across Scotland are suffering from the credit crunch, redundancy and looming unemployment, this is welcome news for struggling homeowners. Every repossession is an individual tragedy and must be avoided at all costs. We are pleased that our discussions last year with the Scottish Government regarding expanding the rescue scheme have proven fruitful.'
