Free housing advice at Edinburgh festival
25 August 2008
Shelter Scotland's new Web Buddies will be on site at the Edinburgh Mela this Saturday (August 30) to help people sort out their housing issues.
The charity's award winning website contains a wealth of free housing advice but not everyone is comfortable using the Internet, or has access to it.
That's where the new Web Buddies come in! The team will be providing hands on support to help people find out what they can do to help themselves with any housing problems they may have.
The Shelter Scotland website - which has just undergone a substantial upgrade - has over 700 pages of straightforward, comprehensive and up to date information.
Jen Clark, Housing Advice for Everyone project manager at Shelter Scotland, said: 'The website is proving to be an invaluable resource for people with all sorts of housing problems. From burst pipes, to relationship breakdown, landlords to neighbours, money problems to eviction we've got it covered. The earlier people seek advice and support the easier it is to sort out problems and our Web Buddies can help source the help you need.'
The Web Buddies will be at the Edinburgh Mela on Saturday from 1 - 4pm, so look out for them at the Ocean Terminal, Leith. Or visit www.shelter.org.uk/getadvice and to access the Easy Access pages, visit www.shelter.org.uk/easyaccess
