As the Scottish Government publishes a report from its working group on repossessions, Shelter Scotland is calling for urgent action to stem the flow of repossessions.

'Shelter Scotland has been an active member of the Scottish Government's working group on repossessions and we welcome the publication of this report,' said Graeme Brown, Director of Shelter Scotland. 'These recommendations would extend the protection available to homeowners in Scotland and help keep families in their own homes.

'We now need urgent action to implement the findings of the Working Group report and to prevent the flow of repossessions becoming a tidal wave of homelessness'.

Anyone struggling with the cost of their mortgages or with any other housing problem should go to Shelter's Get advice pages or call Shelter's free housing advice line on 0808 800 4444.
