Shelter Scotland is inviting tenders to develop resources which will reduce the impact of homelessness on children's learning

We are inviting tenders to produce a set of resource materials for education professionals. This resource will provide the education sector with a clear outline of how they can minimise the impact of homelessness on children’s learning and create an education service that is sensitive to the needs of children and young people who are homeless or in bad housing. The project will form part of the legacy for Keys to the Future http://keystothefuture.org.uk/, a three year pilot programme to tackle homelessness and bad housing among children and young people in the UK.

It is a modest piece of work with the majority of the contractor’s work to be completed by the end of 2010, with a budget of up to £14,000 available for the contractor’s costs. Shelter would then be responsible for the design and production of the resource materials in time for their launch in February 2011.

The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday 10 September 2010. If any potential contractors foresee difficulties with this date please let us know. If you have any queries about either the tender process or the project please get in touch with Jessie Crawford on 0344 515 2472 or Jessie_crawford@shelter.org.uk, or with Gavin Corbett on 0344 515 2468 or gavin_corbett@shelter.org.uk
