Shelter Scotland's Families Projects make the headlines

15 October 2008

Carrie Ann and Devrin

Last week the Edinburgh Families Project made the headlines in both the Herald and Third Force News to mark the 10th anniversary of the project.

They illustrated how vital the work of all the Families Projects are and the difference this service can make to people’s lives.

Both pieces included two case studies featuring former clients Carrie Ann Davies and David Carlin, who were both homeless and spent time in temporary accommodation. They were two of the thousands helped during the ten years of the project.

Both Carrie and David and their families are now happily settled in permanent homes.

Hundreds of families and children have received invaluable help from Shelter Scotland's Families Projects.

Edinburgh Families Project has worked with 415 families with 810 children since it opened ten years ago.

Glasgow Families Project opened six years ago and the service has helped 230 families with 526 children during that time.

South Lanarkshire Families Project is nine years old and has helped 351 families with 527 children over the last five years.

Dumfries and Galloway Families Project opened two years ago and the service has helped 90 families with 177 children during that time.
