Communities Scotland is consulting on changes to its regulation and inspection framework, including inspection of homelessness services. In its response, Shelter broadly welcomes many of the proposals put forward by the agency but also urges that more attention is paid to extracting lessons for housing practice; to dovetailing homelessness inspection with strategy monitoring; and to responding to service problems outwith the normal inspection cycle.
