The Shelter Scotland training team also provides a range of knowledge-based, skills-based and Knowledge into Practice courses.

Homelessness

Glasgow Homelessness Network
Glasgow Homelessness Network provides training to both members and non-members on a variety of topics relating to homelessness.

Housing and homelessness law

Chartered Institute of Housing
The Chartered Institute of Housing offers training on a number of homelessness issues, including the recent changes to the law. Their courses are arranged by subject.

The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations runs a comprehensive programme of training events, including conferences and all day sessions on particular topics.

Child Poverty Action Group provides a comprehensive training programme based on its very popular benefit handbooks.

Working with communities

Glasgow Simon Community
Provides resettlement training to enable people to learn and develop the skills necessary to make a more successful transition from a homeless to housed way of life.

Groundswell
Provides opportunities for organisations, groups and individuals to develop participation, build capacity and improve their services and work in practical and meaningful ways that empower homeless and excluded people. Aims to increase access for community groups to the same resources professionals have access to for personal and professional development.
