The Big Knit
Thanks to all of you who took part in knitting squares for Dougie MacLean’s Perthshire Amber Festival Shelter Blanket fundraiser on 7 November.
The squares were all patiently sewed together by Dolly MacLean, Dougie's mum, who spent hours creating the autumnal blanket. An anonymous bidder had the winning bid of £700 which Edradour Distillery matched for a total of £1,400 – all of which will go towards providing housing advice for people in Scotland.
The anonymous bidder continued in his generosity by gifting the blanket to Fiona Ritchie, the MC for the evening.
The MacLean family and friends also donated pictures and other woolly items in a silent auction to raise further funds. We don't know the final total raised yet, but we are really excited at the results of the evening.
A big thank you to the Dougie MacLean and his family, all who took part in the auctions, Edradour Distillery, and everyone who knitted a square for the Shelter Blanket.
