Expenses for our volunteers
All volunteers are paid 'out-of-pocket' travel and food expenses. We may also be able to contribute towards childcare expenses, subject to the discretion of centre managers.
Travel
If you work for at least four hours on any given day, you can claim your return bus or second-class rail travel, up to a maximum of £4.
Food
You can claim back food expenses to a maximum of £4, if you work for four hours or more.
Childcare
Shelter will cover childcare costs to a maximum of £3.50 per hour, subject to the manager's discretion.
