Volunteer for the Shelter Legal content review board
Shelter Scotland already helps thousands of homeless and badly housed people each year, but there is still plenty of work to do. One of the ways we help is by producing Shelter Legal, our online law resource for people working in housing and homelessness.
What is Shelter Legal?
Shelter Legal keeps hundreds of advisers and practitioners up to date with the latest changes in legislation relating to housing and homeless. The Legal website explains the law in language that is clear and easy to understand and helps people working in housing and homelessness do their jobs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
How can I help?
We're looking for volunteers with a broad knowledge of the law, legal rights or the UK benefits system to contribute their skills and experience to Shelter Legal in Scotland by joining our content review board.
What would I have to do?
Volunteering for the board is not an onerous time commitment and there are no meetings involved. Instead, we will email you information for review, and ask you to read it through and give us your comments. We want to know what you think of the information – is it relevant? Is the information helpful? Is it right? Does it meet the needs of a professional audience?
If you're too busy or don't feel the information lies within your interests or field of knowledge, just let us know and we'll send it to someone else. We're not asking you to take responsibility for the accuracy of the information, we simply want to know what you think.
I'm interested – what do I do?
If you're interested in donating your time, knowledge and experience to Shelter, please fill in our online application form and we'll contact you at the earliest possible opportunity. If you're not familiar with Legal and would like to check it out, you can sign up for a free 10-day trial here.
