Remember a Charity

Remember a Charity promotional banner

Though 75% of the UK population support charities during their lifetime, only 7% currently leave a legacy to a charity when writing a will. Remember A Charity was formed in 2000 and now has over 150 member charities working together to encourage more people to consider leaving a charitable gift in their will, once they’ve looked after their family and friends.

Remember A Charity in Your Will Week

Every year, Shelter Scotland supports Remember A Charity in Your Will Week, to raise awareness of the vital contribution people can make by leaving a gift in their will. This year’s week runs from 11 - 17 September.

Charitable legacies are the foundation for causes like ours and are vital in continuing our work. That’s why we’re taking part in Remember A Charity in your Will Week.

What will you pass on?

This year, Remember A Charity have created their own pirate radio station and are inviting you to listen in and have your say about the future you would like to pass on to the next generation. The legendary DJ, Emperor Rosko, is coming out of retirement to host one last pirate radio show. During Remember A Charity in your Will Week you can tune in on digital radio at Last Pirate FM.

Help protect future generations from homelessness

Writing a will is one of the most important things you will ever do. After you’ve taken care of your loved ones, you might like to think of supporting Shelter Scotland or other causes you’re passionate about too. This one final gift – large or small – can make a truly significant difference to our work.
