About our school resources

Last year, over 46% of our clients were 16-34. We know that young people are over-represented in the homeless system and we want Scotland's students to find out more, by using our schools resources.

About our school resources

Last year, over 46% of our clients were 16-34. We know that young people are over-represented in the homeless system and we want Scotland's students to find out more, by using our schools resources.

You can download primary and secondary materials for your classroom here which have been created in line with the Curriculum for Excellence.

How these resources can help

At Shelter Scotland, we know that a having a safe, secure place to call home is an essential foundation that a lot of things rest on, including health, employment, education and wellbeing.

We hope that these resources will improve young people's understanding and education around homelessness, and bad housing in Scotland. We want these tools to help students and teachers open up conversation and discussion on these vital issues, and become tomorrow's campaigners, allies and advocates.

What resources are available?

Teachers can use the resources and our latest statistics to craft an engaging lesson for their students which depicts the reality of housing in Scotland. Materials include worksheets, games, teachers’ notes, role play activities, and fact slides.
