This page lists organisations and agencies offering help and support to LGBT people facing discrimination or other problems.

Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC)

The Equality and Human Rights Commission offers advice and assistance to anyone who has been discriminated against on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity, as well as race, colour, nationality or ethnic or national origins, disability, age, religion or belief.

Crosslynx

Crosslynx is the Glasgow and West of Scotland's support group for transvestites, transsexuals and transgendered people, based in Glasgow city centre. Crosslynx provides a helpline for transvestite and transsexual people on Mondays from 7.30-9.30pm 0141 847 0787.

Equality Network

The Equality Network campaigns for equality for LGBT people in Scotland. Their website includes information on your rights and the law, and includes forums for discussions.

LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing

The LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing offers a range of services for LGBT people living in the Edinburgh and Lothian area. They provide helpline advice on Wednesdays from 12.30-7pm on 0131 556 4049.

LGBT Youth Scotland

LGBT Youth Scotland provides a range of services for young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Press for Change

Press for Change is a political lobbying and educational organisation, which campaigns to achieve equal civil rights and liberties for all transgender people in the United Kingdom, through legislation and social change.

Stonewall Scotland

Stonewall Scotland campaigns for equality and justice for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people living in Scotland. The organisation works with businesses, the public sector, the Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament and a range of partners to improve the 'lived experience' of LGBT people in Scotland.

Strathclyde Gay and Lesbian Switchboard

The Strathclyde Gay and Lesbian Switchboard offers a wide range of services to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transvestites, transsexuals and their families and friends. Tel: 0141 847 0447 (lines are open 7-10pm).
