Housing policy

Through our advocacy and influencing activity, we strive to bring about structural change. We want to make sure there’s a safe, affordable and secure home for everyone who needs one.

We are fighting for a better housing system that puts people first. One that delivers a new generation of quality social housing, and strengthens and delivers on people’s housing rights.

Scottish Empty Homes Partnership

Empty homes can be a burden on communities and are a wasted resource at a time when Scotland needs more homes.

The Scottish Empty Homes Partnership is funded by the Scottish Government and hosted by Shelter Scotland. It exists to encourage Scotland’s approximately 46,000 privately-owned long-term empty homes to be brought back into use.

At a time of a housing emergency, every home matters.

We’re here for everyone, but only with your support
