What to do if you've nowhere to stay

If you don't have anywhere to stay, don't panic. You have several options, including contacting your local council, calling Shelter's free housing advice helpline 0808 800 4444 and visiting an advice agency.

Emergency accommodation

You'll find different housing options, including hostels and in some cases, temporary housing from your council.Refuges may be able to help if you are leaving home due to domestic abuse.
