The housing and homelessness charity

Shelter Scotland / England

Project overview.

The project provides impartial and independent information, advice and advocacy in East Lothian. The three aims of our work are:

  • To prevent homelessness and address housing issues by providing information, advice, advocacy and training
  • To alleviate homelessness and to help find sustainable solutions through information, advice and advocacy
  • To reduce future homelessness and housing issues through involvement in the strategic development of housing services within East Lothian.

What the project does

  • The project involves working directly with clients, whilst secondary services provide consultancy (information or advice) to agencies or individuals who are in contact with clients.
  • Our East Lothian Project also works in partnership with East Lothian Council in the development of strategy and services by reflecting the needs of service users.
