Sometimes having a home of your own is not enough. If you think that you need help or adaptations so that you can stay in your home, or you're considering moving to a home where you can receive help or that is more suitable for your needs, this section will help you look at your options.

About supported accommodation

This page looks at who might need supported accommodation, and how you can find out what your rights are if you live in supported accommodation.

Community care assessments

If you are finding it difficult to manage at home, you can have an assessment of your needs carried out by the social work department to see what help you may require.

Housing support

Sometimes people may need a little help with every day activities at home. This is known as housing support.

Care at home

If you are finding it difficult to manage, it may be possible for you to get your house adapted so that it is suitable for your needs, or for you to get help, so that you can stay in your home.
