Shelter Scotland today welcomed the lowest number of homelessness applications since 2002/03 but called for Scottish Government intervention to ensure local authorities that are failing homeless people still meet the 2012 commitment to end homelessness.

Kevin Bridges, one of Scotland’s top comedians, has very kindly donated proceeds, shared with Waverely Care, from his gig at the Pleasance Courtyard on August 29 to Shelter Scotland. Two additional stand up comedians, Marlon Davis and Micky Flanangan also kindly supported the event.
Reduction in evictions is major improvement says housing charity

The latest figures from the Scottish Government reveal evictions dropped from 1,773 across Scotland in 2008/2009 to 1,262 in 2009/2010 (2) thanks to the good practice of many local authorities.
