Legal services in Scotland

Getting legal help from a solicitor can help you deal with housing problems.

The type of legal help you need depends on your situation. A solicitor will tell you how they can help you.

This page has a list of legal services in Scotland.

Solicitors can give legal advice about what the law says about your situation and your rights. They can explain what your options are.

Solicitors can also represent you in a legal case. You’ll usually need to hire a solicitor to represent you if you’re going to court.

Some legal services will only provide advice. Some will also be able to offer representation.

Paying for legal help

Most legal services charge for their work. They should tell you if there is a cost before you get any legal help.

If you have a low income, you could get legal aid to help with the cost.

Some legal services also offer free advice. They are often busy, and they may not be able to take on your case.
