Shelter Scotland Shops

Coronavirus (COVID-19) information for our shop customers and donors

To support the nationwide effort to control the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and protect our staff, volunteers, donors and customers, we have taken the decision to temporarily close all Shelter shops.

Our shop staff and volunteers work tirelessly to keep our shops open in communities across the country, and their safety is our biggest priority, so we have taken the difficult decision to close our shops for the foreseeable future.

However, we need your support more than ever to help defend the right to a safe home. Here are other ways you can help:

  • Donations – please don’t leave donations outside our shops whilst we are closed. Please keep them safe at home until we reopen, when we will be very grateful to receive them.
  • Please consider supporting our emergency appeal to help us be there for those facing urgent housing issues because of coronavirus COVID-19. Donate here.
  • Did you know that when you donate goods to our Shelter charity shops, if you are a UK taxpayer then we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give? This costs you nothing extra and works through a government scheme called Gift Aid. For us to make the claim, please fill in a gift aid declaration. When you have submitted your declaration, it will apply to all your eligible donations from the last four years – and to any donation you make in the future.

Thank you for your continued support, we reassure you that we will be back soon.
