Shelter Scotland housing policy
We work across a number of areas developing policy to ensure there is a safe, secure and affordable home for everyone. We also deliver key statistics, respond to consultations, write blogs and produce policy and research reports.

Private Renting Project
The Shelter Scotland Private Renting Project seeks to ‘make renting fit and fair for all’ by: working with private landlords to improve practice; collaborating with letting agents to devise a “Letting Agent Plus” service standard to improve access and tenancy sustainment; and strengthen the consumer voice of private renters by putting private renters’ voices at the heart of policymaking.

Meet the Policy Advocacy team
We are the Policy Advocacy team, and we're responsible for developing Shelter Scotland's policy positions. We chat to our advisors to hear about the issues around homelessness and bad housing that are being seen in our services, and use these experiences to inform our policy work. We then meet with decision makers, respond to consultations, and produce reports to advocate for the changes we want to see. All this feeds into our campaigns work, on both a local and national level.

For research interviews, requests to speak, or if you're unsure who to contact, please use the team email address below. We will identify the right person and get back to you shortly:
