Our Byres Road shop in Glasgow is getting a makeover as it becomes a runway for a charity fashion show for each of the next three Saturdays.

The Boutique is hosting the events during the Westend Festival to showcase the designer and high quality items on sale.

Local business Westend Flooring has donated a red carpet to transform the shop and the pavement outside into a catwalk for models.

Talented student volunteers from the Fashion and Design Department at Glasgow Caledonian University have been hand-picking the best of the items donated to the store.

Staff and volunteers from the our Byres Road and Paisley shops will be modelling the bargain clothes and accessories some of which can no longer be bought anywhere else.

The first fashion show takes place on Saturday 10th June when models will strut their stuff from 10.30am until 4pm. The assistant manager at the Byres Road shop has also enlisted his own band Tired Souls to play in the shop window throughout each day.

Alison Watson, Deputy Director Shelter Scotland, said:

“The staff and volunteers who support Shelter Scotland by running our charity shops have inspirational levels of energy and enthusiasm.

“Putting on these fashion shows throughout the Westend Festival is a great way to highlight the fashion bargains they offer locals throughout the year.

“It is only because people like them donate their time and creativity to our shops that we have the funds needed to ensure no-one has to face bad housing or homelessness alone. I can’t thankt hem enough for all their help.”
