Homeowners Mortgage Support
The Homeowners Mortgage Support (HMS) scheme was a UK-wide scheme that aimed to help home owners who were experiencing a temporary reduction in income and struggling to pay their mortgages. The scheme allowed these owners to defer part of their mortgage payments for up to two years. The deferred payments were rolled into the total cost of the mortgage.
On 21 April 2011 the homeowners mortgage support (HMS) scheme closed to new applicants.
