Repairing standard - completion certifcate

When the landlord completes the work required by the repairing standard enforcement order, they will be able to apply to the First Tier Tribunal Housing and Property Chamber for a completion certificate. [1]

If the work has been completed, a completion certificate must be issued. [2]

The tribunal will be able, of its own accord, to inspect the property to ascertain whether the repairing standard enforcement order has been complied with, if the deadline for the work to be carried out has passed. If the tribunal is satisfied that the work is complete, a completion certificate may be issued. [3]

Once the repairing standard enforcement order has been revoked, the revocation must be entered in the appropriate land register. [4]

If the tenant disagrees with the granting of the completion certificate or the landlord has been refused her/his application for a completion certificate, s/he will be able to appeal within 21 days of being notified of the decision. [5]
