Briefing for Stage 3 debate of the Community Justice (Scotland) Bill

We are supportive of the amendments being brought forward by Paul Wheelhouse MSP which will ensure that housing and other essential services are on the face of the bill and in the Community Justice National Performance Framework and the National Strategy.

We are also very supportive of changes to the Bill at stage 2 which have given the voluntary sector a stronger participative role at strategic level, through contributing to the National Strategy and National Performance Framework, as well as contributing to the local community justice planning process. We are supporting amendments at stage 3 which would ensure that a robust reporting system is in place to monitor how the voluntary sector is included in practice.
