Supported Lodgings

By: Shelter Scotland  Published: August 2018

Summary

The academic research draws on insights from existing practice and research literature, and primary qualitative research with sector experts across England and Scotland, existing and potential Supported Lodgings ‘hosts’, and young people with experience of homelessness themselves and explores the opportunities and challenges associated with scaling Supported Lodgings in Scotland with a view to informing policy and practice development at local and national levels.

The business case sets out a model for a well-managed scheme designed around the needs of young people based on the research findings.  A business plan and proposals for a pilot scheme for Supported Lodgings are presented in this report.

This project was funded through The Social Innovation Fund which is supported by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Scottish Government.
