Make the preloved donation pledge
Will you join us in committing to sustainable fashion this year?
Pledge to donate your preloved clothes to a Shelter Scotland shop at least three times a year. You’ll be giving your garments a new lease of life and fighting against waste, while also raising vital funds to end the housing emergency.
How it works
1. Sign the pledge. Commit to clearing out your wardrobe at least three times a year and donate your clothes to Shelter Scotland.
2. Donate your clothes. Send your clothes to us in the post for free or bring them to one of our shops.
3. Share your pledge using #PrelovedDonationPledge. Tag us on Instagram @sheltershopsscotland with a photo of your donation for a chance to be featured.
Why pledge?
The average person in the UK has 31 items of clothing* that they haven’t worn in the last year. By pledging to donate your clothes three times a year, you’ll be:
giving your clothes a second life and stopping them from going into landfill
keeping your wardrobe clutter-free
raising funds to fight the housing emergency
When you sign the pledge, you’ll receive:
a downloadable pack, with a calendar to help you keep track of your donations and badges that you can share on social media
regular updates from us, with top tips on making your wardrobe more sustainable
*according to research by WRAP.
What you can donate
As well as good quality preloved clothes, you can also donate many other items, such as shoes, jewellery, accessories, books and homeware. See our full list of items you can donate.
