Costs and fees when buying a home

There are various costs and fees for buying your home, from solicitor's fees to valuation and surveys of the property.

Other mortgage costs

On top of your mortgage, when buying your home you will need to budget for other costs such as mortgage arrangement fee, deposit, buildings insurance and mortgage protection insurance.

Registers of Scotland Registration Fees and Land and Building Transaction Tax

Land and Building Transaction Tax. From 1 April 2015 all house sales in Scotland will be subject to Land and Building Transaction Tax imposed by the Scottish Land Registry.

Other costs of buying a home

On top of your mortgage and mortgage fees there are other costs of buying a home, such as a bridging loan, repairs and any costs when you're moving into your new home.
