Redecoration

Where a landlord has an obligation to repair, then this covers redecoration needed as a result of the repair work.

Redecoration after repairs

Tenants have the right to ensure that a landlord makes good any damage done whilst undertaking repair work [1] this should include reinstating decorations[2]

The position is different if the damage results from improvement works. If the work is an improvement then there is no obligation to make good afterwards although advisers should check the tenancy agreement or advise clients to try to make this a condition of allowing the work to be done.
