RSLs and homelessness in Scotland

The report looks specifically at the experience of a small number of RSLs, which we contacted directly, as well as other more general evidence about the sector. This report gives a snapshot of work by RSLs, but given the small sample of organisations this is not necessarily typical of the sector as a whole.

Shelter's evidence to LG&C Committee

The Committee has asked for our views on access to housing in local areas, on homelessness legislation and on housing supply generally. Since each of these is a big issue in its own right, in the evidence below, Shelter has looked mainly at progress towards the 2012 homelessness target and at some of the implications of that target.

Children's hearings response

Our response focuses on proposals under the theme of housing. Housing is fundamental to the quality of children’s lives and the fulfilment of their statutory rights. Children need a home to feel safe, keep warm, stay healthy, and to play and learn.

This is Shelter’s submission to the Local Government and Communities Committee on the draft budget 2009-10. Reading the evidence session on 1 October 2008, we recognise that the discussion ranged quite broadly over issues of housing delivery in the context of the changing housing market.
