Booking and terms

These terms and conditions are for anyone buying a place or group places at a Shelter Scotland eLearning session, workshop or briefing. They replace all previous terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities.

By using our services, you agree to comply with our terms and conditions.

Using our training platform

All learners must have internet access and an up-to-date web browser.

Learners should test their computer setup before their course or session.

All our e-learning courses use Moodle, an online platform designed for learning.

Please tell us at least 2 weeks before the course if any learners have additional access requirements. Without advance notice, we may not be able to provide the correct support.

We use Zoom for our online sessions. Check our guide to using Zoom. If learners are using work computers, please make sure your IT system supports Zoom.

If learners plan to use Teams or another meeting platform, please contact us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk or call 0344 515 2477.

How to enrol learners

To enrol learners, complete the online booking form for your chosen course.

Please give the full name and email address of each learner when booking. Changes can be made until the course starts. You can add up to 15 learners on the same booking form.

Your booking confirmation

After booking, you’ll get a confirmation email with a PDF invoice attached. Your booking is confirmed once you receive the email.

If you do not receive a confirmation and invoice within 24 hours of booking, please email store@shelter.org.uk.

After payment, learners will get an email with login details and a link to the training site.

Contact us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk if a learner does not receive login details at least 24 hours before the session.

Invoices for your course

We'll email you an invoice as a PDF attachment when we receive your booking form.

Please note:

  • payments must be made within 30 days via BACs

  • access to the course is granted only after full payment

  • late payments may delay access to your training account and courses

If you do not receive a confirmation and invoice within 24 hours, email store@shelter.org.uk.

Courses changes and cancellation

There are no refunds for courses cancelled after payment.

Once the course starts, no changes can be made. Course places cannot be transferred to other learners.

We may remove a learner for lack of commitment or plagiarism, but only after speaking with them and their organisation. Re-enrolment of a learner will require full payment.

Terms and conditions for workshops, webinars and briefings

How to book a session

To book a workshop, webinar or briefing, complete the online booking form for your chosen session.

Please give the full name and email address of each learner when booking.

You can make changes to learners enrolled until the session starts.

We’ll email you the login and joining instructions after you have paid in full.

If a learner has not received joining instructions 5 days before the session, please contact us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk.

Your booking confirmation

After booking, we'll send you a confirmation email with a PDF invoice attached. Your booking is confirmed once you receive the email.

If you do not receive a confirmation and invoice within 24 hours of booking, please email store@shelter.org.uk.

We'll send you joining instructions once we receive full payment.

Session changes and cancellation

To cancel, please email trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk at least 5 working days before the event.

There are no refunds for sessions cancelled less than 5 days in advance. If there are exceptional circumstances, we will consider refunds on a case-by-case basis.

We do not issue refunds for learners' technical failures or email issues. If we have technical problems that affect the delivery of the session, we'll offer a place on the next workshop,

If we need to cancel or reschedule, we'll notify you as soon as possible and reschedule to a suitable date.

Terms and conditions for group bookings

How to make a group booking

Contact us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk to make a group booking.

We will send you a booking form. Please complete this and email it back to us.

Your booking is confirmed once we receive the signed contract.

Please tell us the full name and email of each learner at least 10 working days before the session.

Contact us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk if a learner does not receive login details at least 24 hours before the session.

Invoices for your course

We'll issue the invoice the day after the session, unless agreed otherwise. Invoices must be paid within 30 days.

Courses changes and cancellation

There are no cancellation fees if you cancel at least 11 working days before your session.

There are no refunds for sessions cancelled 10 working days or less before the session. If there are exceptional circumstances, we will consider refunds on a case-by-case basis.

If we need to cancel or reschedule a course, we’ll let you know at least 10 working days in advance and arrange a new date.

If we cancel or reschedule less than 10 working days before the start date, we’ll let you know quickly. You can choose a new date or get a full refund.

All materials are owned by Shelter Scotland Training unless agreed otherwise.
