Booking and terms

These guidelines ensure a smooth and satisfactory experience for all our customers. Please read them carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities.

These agreements are for anyone buying a place or group places at a Shelter Scotland eLearning session, workshop or briefing. They replace all previous agreements.

By using our services, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions for eLearning

This agreement is for anyone buying eLearning from Shelter Scotland. It replaces earlier versions.

No changes can be made once the course starts.

Learners need internet access and an up-to-date web browser.

Booking confirmation and enrolling learners

1. Complete the online booking form for your chosen course

2. You’ll get a confirmation email with a PDF invoice attached

3. Your booking is confirmed once you receive the email

4. Provide the full name and email address of each learner when booking. Changes can be made until the course starts

5. To add more learners, complete the booking form online

6. Course places cannot be transferred after the start date

7. Notify us at least two weeks before the course if any delegates have special needs. We’ll do our best to help but can’t guarantee support for needs not shared in advance

8. After payment, learners will get an email with login details and a link to the training site

9. If a learner hasn’t received their login details before the course starts, please contact us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk

Invoicing and cancellation

  1. We'll email you an invoice as a PDF attachment upon receiving your booking form

  2. Payments must be made within 30 days via BACs

  3. Access to the course is granted only after full payment

  4. Late payments may delay access and suspend your account until settled

  5. Cancellations after payment incur 100% of the cost

  6. Course fees can't be changed during this agreement unless a new agreement is made

  7. Course places can't be moved between learners once enrolled

  8. We may remove a learner for lack of commitment or plagiarism, but only after speaking with them and their agency. Re-enrolment requires full payment

  9. If you don’t get a confirmation and invoice within 24 hours, email store@shelter.org.uk

Changes and cancellations

Customer cancellation

Cancellations should be made via email to trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk.

Cancellations after payment will incur 100% of the cost, except in exceptional circumstances.

Changes to training courses

If Shelter Scotland Training must cancel or re-schedule a course, we will notify you as soon as possible and reschedule to a suitable date.

Technical issues

There will be no refunds if a technical failure or email issue at a learner's home or workplace prevents access to a course.

If the technical problem is due to our error, we will offer you a place on the next workshop.

Adding or amending learners

Please contact us if you wish to change the learners you have booked. Changes to learners can be made up until the course start date. Email us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk.

If you wish to add additional learners, please complete the booking form online.

After the course start date, course places cannot be transferred to other learners.

Housing law advice courses

The purchaser must provide the full name and email address of each learner at least 10 working days before the course start date. Changes to the learners can be made up until the course start date.

Once payment has been received, learners will be enrolled on their chosen course. Before the course start date, they will receive an enrolment email containing their log in details and link to the training website.

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to contact us if a learner does not receive the required login information at least 5 days before the start of the course.

The purchaser should notify Shelter Scotland training at least 3 weeks before the course start date of any learners who may require any special assessment arrangements. An assessor from Shelter Scotland training team will speak with the learner and agree these arrangements. It is not Shelter Scotland's responsibility to have special arrangements in place if we are not told before the course start date that arrangements are required.

Shelter Scotland reserve the right to remove any learner from a course where it can be demonstrated that the learner has not shown commitment to the course or evidence of plagiarism is found. This would only occur after some contact and communication with the learner and their organisation as appropriate.

If a learner enrols again at a later date, the full cost of the training course will be met by the individual or their organisation.

Please contact us at trainingscotland@shelter.org.uk to withdraw from the Housing Law Advice course. Once withdrawn, you will no longer have access to the course.

Workshop courses

A confirmation email will be sent at the time of booking. The joining instructions will be emailed to the learner one week before the event.

It is the learner's responsibility to contact us if they do not receive the required login information at least 3 days before the start time of the event.

It is the learner's responsibility to test their computer setup before the start of the workshop.

Ownership of copyright in all materials written and produced by Shelter Scotland Training belongs to Shelter Scotland Training unless agreed otherwise.

Reproduction of the materials is prohibited without prior permission from Shelter Scotland Training.
