You do not need any prior knowledge of homelessness decisions and reasons for this webinar.

It is suitable if you are new to a role as an adviser or work for a local authority in Scotland in housing or homelessness. It is also suitable if you support people through the homelessness decision making and appeals process.

  • how local authorities tell applicants the outcome of their case

  • how people can ask for a review if they disagree with the decision

  • judicial reviews

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • explain how local authorities notify applicants of their decisions and why clear communication is important

  • describe the right to request a review and outline how the review process works

  • understand what judicial review is and identify situations where it might apply
