Help families like Sireena’s get back to a good place
Sireena and her son will be homeless this Christmas.
They’ve been forced into a freezing cold, damp flat with a broken front door. It’s not safe and neither of them can sleep properly. The mould has already given Sireena breathing problems – she can’t stand to think what it’s doing to her son.
She’s not sure what’s worse, this or their last flat, which was so small that they had to share a bed. The lack of running water meant she had to wash dishes in the shower. Next door there were drug dealers.
But things weren’t always like this for Sireena. When she was a little girl opening her presents on Christmas morning, she felt warm and content. She can’t believe things have turned out this way.
Things won’t change without donations like yours
All Sireena wants is to give her son the same childhood she had, the one he desperately needs.
They might not be living on the streets, but their family won’t be ‘home’ this Christmas. They’re surviving, waiting, and hoping – and they aren’t the only ones. Every day, 23 families like hers become homeless in Scotland.
Our helpline staff, lawyers, and housing advisers like Wafa – who’s working tirelessly on Sireena’s case – are fighting every day to help all those struggling with homelessness.
But we can only keep doing this with your support. Please donate today to help families like Sireena’s get back to a good place.
When I was a child, home was a warm, happy place. This Christmas, I wish I could give my son what I had.
