The event

Welcome to the first Shelter Scotland Colour Run for Home! Join us at Duthie Park in Aberdeen for a fun-filled event that celebrates community and raises awareness for the Fight For Home.

Get ready to run, walk, or dance through a rainbow of colours with friends, family and colleagues. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun day out, the Shelter Scotland Colour Run for Home has something for everyone.

Completing 1, 2 or 3 laps of Duthie Park, you'll be doused head to toe in a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours. As you make your way around our accessible route, with music provided by a local DJ, volunteers will shower you with safe non-toxic powdered pigments, creating a mesmerizing colour show.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets allowed

Tickets cost £10 and are available through Eventbrite.

Accessibility

The route is on flat ground and suitable for people with mobility issues. In addition to volunteer marshals, signage will be mounted on perimeter barriers to direct you to the correct places.

The event PA system, DJ and stage will be sited away from the registration point to reduce noise.

Although this is a colour run, you do not have to run! You're welcome to dance, walk or even wheelchair your way around the 1, 2, or 3 kilometre course.

Fundraise for Shelter Scotland

The Shelter Scotland Colour Run for Home is about more than just a splash of colour. By participating and getting sponsorship, you'll be supporting Shelter Scotland's vital work in defending the right to a safe home for all those in need. It's a chance to make a difference while having a blast!

All Colour Run participants are encouraged to fundraise in addition to the ticket price. We suggest a minimum £50 fundraising pledge.

Once you sign up, our community fundraising team will contact you with details of how to set up your Shelter Scotland fundraising page – easy!

You can ask people to sponsor you through your fundraising page or use a paper form.

What is a Colour Run

A colour run is an untimed running event. You do not need a certain level of fitness and can walk, run, skip, dance or your way around the route.

4 colour stations line the route ready to shower you with coloured powder. The powder is certified non-toxic, free of heavy metals and non-flammable. It is made from vegetable starch dyed with food grade colouring. As this is a food grade product, it is not considered harmful to wildlife or vegetation.

Wear something that you do not mind getting stained and remember a change of clothing for travelling home. It is strongly advised that you wear glasses or goggles for eye protection.

Shelter Scotland is not liable for damage to any personal property, so come prepared to get messy!

What your Colour Run ticket price includes

The £10 ticket price includes a Shelter Scotland t-shirt and a bottle of water.

Please collect your t-shirt before the event to avoid delays and missing the start time. T-shirts will be available to collect in August from our Shelter Scotland office, 29 Crown St, Aberdeen.

Please email communityscotland@shelter.org.uk for more information.

We are sorry but we cannot post t-shirts to participants.

If you set up a JustGiving page and fundraise for Shelter Scotland, you'll also receive a medal after the event.

Gift Aid on donations to Shelter Scotland

Please encourage people who sponsor you to include Gift Aid in their donations. It’s a fantastic way to help us raise extra funds and be there for more people who are living in unsafe housing conditions.
