Does the council have to house you?

If you don't have anywhere to live, your local council may have a duty to house you. Sometimes dealing with the council can be difficult and not everyone is entitled to a permanent home.

We have developed a free online tool to help you work out what you're entitled to. It will only take a few minutes, and is totally confidential.

Are you a UK citizen who normally lives here?

The council will check your nationality and where you live. This is to work out whether you are eligible for assistance. It is possible for some people in your household to be eligible and others not.

We can't guarantee that the results of this assessment will always be 100% accurate.

If you're unsure about any details, or if your circumstances are not covered, find out ways to get help with your situation.
