Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Bill: stage 2 briefing
Shelter Scotland support this bill and welcome the move to modernise and simplify the tenancy for private renters in Scotland, in particular we welcome increased security of tenure introduced through the abolition of "no fault" eviction. This briefing sets out Shelter Scotland's view on selected amendments to the bill lodged at stage 2 in the order which they will be debated.

Empty Homes Financial Incentives Recommendations 2016
Part of the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership's agreed remit for 2015/16 is to review existing funding and financing options for empty homes work in Scotland and follow this up with a paper highlighting where financial products or government funding is needed to bridge the gap keeping empty homes vacant.

Proposed LBTT supplement on additional residential homes: Shelter Scotland’s response to the Finance Committee’s call for written evidence
Shelter Scotland's comments are limited to the impact that the Land and Buildings Transactions Tax (LBTT) supplement on additional residential homes is likely to have on people who are poorly housed or at risk of homelessness. In particular we will assess the impact of this policy on the private rented sector.

Briefing for Day 2 of Stage 2 for the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill
We broadly welcome the Land Reform Bill currently progressing through Holyrood, however the following organisations believe the bill would be greatly strengthened with the inclusion of a Compulsory Sale Order power to help bring long term vacant and derelict land and property back into use.
